Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Fight Terrorism and Build Nations

I read the book, then my wife read it, and then all of our friends finished the book in record time. One evening, my boys (ages 8 and 6) asked me about Three Cups of Tea (after overhearing many conversations about it). I tried to explain, however, I finally gave up and simply sat down and started reading it to them. After a few weeks we finished and we are all better for the experience. They have started raising money already, and plan to talk to their school’s teachers and administrators as soon as school starts again in a few weeks to try to develop a fundraising program for the entire school.

Well done Greg and David!

Travelon Shoulder Bag

I have purchased the smaller Travelon bags previously specifically for airline travel and loved them. However, this one will be even more useful when I go on short trips where I want a medium sized bag with all of the features that Travelon bags feature. I’m ordering a second one because I’m so impressed with it!

The Smart Traveler’s Passport: 399 Tips from Seasoned Travelers (Paperback)

This book is a compilation of reader-submitted tips from the 20 Travel Tips feature in Budget Magazine. A tip of mine appeared in their February 2007 issue, unfortunately I think it was a little too late to be included here. So, yes, I think I’m a little biased, but there are some cool ideas here. It’s nicely divided into sections based on all parts of your trip. The safety section is particularly good and important, of course. It does tend to focus more on foreign travel, so if you only take two trips to grandma’s house a year, it might not be worthwhile for you. But otherwise, give it a shot! high-security concerns.

Lion Country Safari

We loved it! Even our two teenagers who take a lot to get them excited enjoyed Lion Country Safari. If you stay at the KOA (KOA site gives you free tickets to the park) which is right next door you will hear the Lions ROAR! No kidding! I was walking my dog and the lions started roaring, and she couldn’t get back to the RV quick enough. Each morning we woke up to the roar of lions! The drive through the park puts you right in the middle of all kinds of animals, it is amazing. You really feel like you are on an African Safari. My kids can’t wait to go back! The amusement park is more for young children ages 2 - 10yrs., but still worth it for all ages.

Liked the Edison Beach House

First, I want to thank other reviews that help us choose the hotel.

We had the G condo second floor, (2 bed) pool+beach view.

Second the Hotel is great: Rooms clean, pool clean, beach combed…well you got the picture. steps from beach, and from restaurants. ask the manager for clean restaurants she give it to you (not that many)
All the towels you need (for beach and bathroom) quiet A/C units in every room

So my stay was great, BUT for 235 $ a night, i do not exept less…
The rooms are nice and all but a little 90’s, the bathroom is a little outdated. I loved the security, with camera, cards.
bring earplugs though, because every rooms has a lanai, with sliding door, you hear them all night (especially if they smoking)

I read some traveler did not liked the fact that chair are chained, I loved it, i did nit have to fight my child about not moving them, they even have umbrellas.

they say they open at 9am, but the first morning somebody was in the office at 8am already to help. wow.

Would I got back there: YES YES YES.
